Canton Coin explained

Canton Coin is the utility token that powers the Global Synchronizer, the shared interoperability infrastructure of Canton Network. Applications pay for synchronizer traffic in Canton Coin, and those payments are burned. New coins enter circulation only as minted rewards to the parties operating and growing the network: super validators who run the synchronizer, validators who verify transactions, and providers of featured applications.

That reward-based issuance is the token's defining trait. There was no pre-mine and no allocation sale; every unit in circulation was earned through participation. Supply growth follows a schedule defined in the network's tokenomics, while the burn side scales with real usage, since more application traffic means more fees destroyed.

Naming can be confusing at first contact. The on-ledger instrument is called Amulet in the Splice codebase and in ledger metadata, while user-facing software, including OneSwap, displays the symbol CC. Both names identify the same asset.

On OneSwap, CC is the most connected asset in the catalog: it trades against the other listed Canton assets through dedicated pools, and its pool-derived USD price updates with every regeneration of the market pages.
